Dance & Operations Consultant
Alyssa Maddox, launched her dancing career at a young age-coming from a military family she has trained all over the United States and abroad including a year with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Alyssa holds a degree in dance from the University of Georgia, Athens where she had the opportunity to perform with the pre-professional modern dance company, CORE, travelling and training with international dance professionals. Her training includes ballet, jazz, modern, Laban/Bartenieff, contact improve, partnering and a certification in the Progressing Ballet Technique. Alyssa has served as Adjunct Professor for Brenau University and Junior Company Director for The Gainesville Ballet. Some of her choreography credits include works for Belmont University’s Musical Theatre Program: Grease, The Drowsey Chaperone, and Anything Goes. Along with various works for The Gainesville Theatre Alliance and original choreography for Marcus Hummons’s The Piper, performed by Actor’s Bridge Ensemble Nashville, TN.
For the past 20+ years, Alyssa has choreographed and taught both classical ballet and contemporary dance forms to students of all ages. Her passion is inspiring young dancers to find what moves them and to believe that their only roadblock is the confidence to begin. Alyssa believes in bridging the gap between the need for solid technique and the want for individuality in artistry. Along with being a wife and mother to two beautiful girls, she serves as an adjunct dance professor at Belmont University and looks forward to teaching the talented students at the Bellevue Dance Center.
