Join BellePAC in welcoming Karen Balzer, Founder and former Artistic Director of the Jackson Purchase Dance Company,  Centre of Dance, and Adjunct Professor within the Department of Theatre at Murray State University to this one-of-a-kind master class.

More About Karen:

Founder and former Artistic Director of the Jackson Purchase Dance Company,  Centre of Dance, and Adjunct Professor within the Department of Theatre at Murray State University. Mrs. Balzer's career in dance spanned over 50 years. She was a former dancer with the Fort Worth Ballet, directed and choreographed over 200 musicals and dance performances,  including the off Broadway musical, The Medicine Show, and the premiere production of Asylum.  She has toured an original story/ballet version of The Hobbit and an original contemporary ballet, THE UNIVERSE, and excerpts from SLEEPING BEAUTY  to New York City in partnership with Manhattan Tour and Travel.  Mrs. Balzer also served as an Assistant Professor of Dance at University of Georgia and Pennsylvania State University.  Most recently, she served as a Roster Artist for VSA Kentucky (funded by the Kennedy Center for the Arts), and Arts For All Kentucky, developing dance teaching strategies for students with Special Needs. This also included a Virtual Instructional Video for Elementary Students for YouTube during the COVID pandemic.  Mrs. Balzer is now retired, but still offers Master classes in dance to local and regional dance studios and companies.
